The international premiere of 'Mind of Thoughts' took place at the 25th Beverly Hills Film Festival in Hollywood, at the iconic TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. A place steeped in film history. On Friday, the film was screened at the Beyond Hollywood International Film Festival in the Regal LA Live cinema in Los Angeles. Next month, the official East Coast premiere will follow in New York, where 'Mind of Thoughts' was selected for a new film festival. The Red Movie Awards in Reims, France, are also still on the schedule. There, she holds a nomination for Best Debut Director.
Iconic Venue
“It was unbelievable to be able to screen our film in Hollywood,” says Charlotte. “We were standing there with a project we made with so much love and dedication, and suddenly we were among filmmakers from all over the world. It’s still hard to grasp, especially in such an iconic venue where so many of my favorite filmmakers have premiered over the years.”
And the film is truly one hundred percent Maldegem. Charlotte directed, wrote, produced, and edited the film entirely on her own. Together with cast members Brienne Mizell, Berthe Tanwo Njole, and Wytze Janssens, she traveled to Los Angeles to represent the project. For all of them, it was an unforgettable highlight, an experience that felt like the reward for months of intensive work.
The film addresses themes such as mental health, self-doubt, and the impact of thoughts. As a result, the film touches on universal feelings that many people relate to. Charlotte hopes that her path inspires other young creatives to follow their own voice. “It was here in Middelburg that the idea for the film grew. That this story, born in Maldegem, is now being shown in Hollywood, feels almost unreal,” Charlotte adds.

Who is she?
But who exactly is Charlotte Verminck? One thing’s for sure, she was born for the craft. She began editing at the age of ten. By seventeen, she became Creative Director for Ozark Henry, where she experimented with multidisciplinary visual concepts and storytelling. Later, she honed her skill set in Los Angeles at Little Minx, the renowned production company of Rhea Scott.

Creativity
“Charlotte’s work is known for its strong visual identity, profound themes, and cinematic boldness,” film experts say. “She wrote, directed, produced, and edited 'Mind of Thoughts' entirely on her own. Her uncompromising vision and perseverance show that determination and creativity can take a story from a kitchen table in Belgium to the big screens of Hollywood, and beyond.”
