The award recognizes the film’s sound design as a central element of its storytelling - underscoring the role of sound in shaping the film’s psychological depth and emotional impact.

“As a director, this award means a great deal to me,” says director Charlotte Verminck. “Sound is often invisible, yet it carries so much of a film’s emotional weight. I’m incredibly grateful that the work behind the scenes is being recognised in this way.”

The film’s sound was crafted by Eneas Mentzel, Arjan Bogaert, Michel Gregoire, and Kati Falk-Flores, whose work helped bring the internal world of Mind of Thoughts to life through a layered and immersive sonic approach.

Following its world premiere in Hollywood at the 25th anniversary edition of the Beverly Hills Film Festival and award win in Los Angeles, Mind of Thoughts has continued to build momentum across the international festival circuit, with screenings in Los Angeles, New York, and Europe.

Exploring the power of thought and its impact on daily life, Mind of Thoughts combines visual storytelling with sound design to create an intimate and immersive experience - where what is heard becomes as important as what is seen.

With this recognition in New York, the film further establishes its presence internationally, continuing to connect with audiences through both its narrative and its craft.
