Mind of Thoughts has been awarded Best European Short Film in Barcelona, marking a significant moment in the film’s growing presence across Europe.

Following its international premiere in Hollywood and continued recognition in New York, the film now continues its trajectory across the European festival landscape, connecting with audiences through its exploration of the inner world and the power of thought.
Blending psychological storytelling with a strong visual and emotional language, Mind of Thoughts centers on a young artist navigating the fragile space between self-doubt and creative breakthrough - a theme that resonated deeply with audiences in Barcelona.
For director Charlotte Verminck, who produced the film independently alongside a team of more than 50 collaborators, this recognition carries meaning beyond the award itself.
“Young female creators often start out facing higher barriers,” she says. “That’s why it’s so important to continue creating space built on trust and equal opportunity. Every voice - regardless of gender, age, or background - deserves to be heard.”
The award was presented as part of the Love & Hope Film Festival, where it was accepted by lead actress Brienne Mizell, who spoke about the creative vision behind the film:
“Charlotte poured her entire heart into this film. She is a remarkable and deeply committed filmmaker. Supporting voices like hers - especially female directors, writers, producers, and editors - is essential.”
Part of Mind of Thoughts was filmed in Bruges, including scenes at the Grand Hotel Casselbergh, grounding the film’s international journey in a strong Belgian identity.
With earlier recognition in Los Angeles and New York, and continued momentum across the international circuit, Mind of Thoughts increasingly establishes itself as a European work with global resonance, driven by a cinematic language that merges emotional depth with visual expression.
